This weekend was yucky! I know we need the rain but man am I ready for some sunshine. Friday night Allen and I watched the movie Fireproof with some friends from church. We had been doing a study of it during Sunday school for the past few months and watched the movie to end our study. It was a great movie and we enjoyed the time with friends. I have to say Kirk Cameron looks exactly like he did in Growing Pains except maybe a little less hair!
Peyton was suppose to have his first game on Saturday but it was rained out. So Allen I spent the day running errands. My dear friends are having us a shower this weekend and we are having it here so everyone can see the nursery and I we won't have to cart all the stuff from one place to another. So we needed a few items to spruce up our house. I need curtains for the nursery and we were trying to decide on a glider. We looked everywhere for some curtains but so far no luck! I did find rugs for my kitchen and pillows for our living room! Saturday night we went to Babies R Us with my parents to look at gliders some more and eat BBQ.
On Sunday, we went to church, came home, ate lunch, took naps, went back to church and had dinner with the Brown's. Today I have felt so tired. Don't know if it is the weather or what. Allen and I came home from work and took naps! We never do that but we were both exhausted! I want to stay up and watch Dancing With the Stars tonight so I hope the nap helped! Peyton was suppose to have a game tonight but due to the weather it was canceled too. They have rescheduled it for Wednesday which means I will miss it because I have to help at church that night. Peyton has been very disappointed about the rain outs he is ready to start playing! We are about to hit that busy time again with baseball but for once I look forward to being busy so time will fly! I am ready for May!
In adoption news we have our home study update visit scheduled for the week of spring break! This is the third time our case worker has come to do a visit. It has been once a year for the last three years! I am hoping that after this visit he will only be coming back for a post visit to meet Madison! I am not nervous this time because we have done it so much! Two more weeks until spring break! I can't wait!

2nd Post of the Day
Can you tell it is a snow day and I have nothing to do? Yes, well I know the house needs cleaning but that just doesn't interest me right now! So I decided I needed to post some pictures of Peyton's snow day! We were out early this morning with the neighbors watching the kids sled! I am so glad they got one good snow this year.
Here is the crew heading to the road for a snowball fight.
Picture Updates
Below are pictures from Baby Madison's room. I love the way the color came out. Allen and my dad worked hard on the crib and I love it! Notice the Pottery Barn Bedding-it is called Kelly. I got it on line about a year and half ago. I got the whole set for like $30! Love the colors !

Pictures of Peyton's basketball season. I don't have too many because I just can't get any good ones when he moves that fast!

Lastly here are the most recent ultrasound pictures. We went back to the specialist in Feb. and he said everything looked good. He said the worst part of this is that she will never be able to play in the NFL and she will not be allowed to join the Army! But other than that the kidney issue most likely won't be a problem. So I think we can handle that! She also weighed 3 1/2 pounds at the ultrasound! It was so cool to see how much she has grown!

Funky Playlist
By the way I happened to check on here earlier and someone's play list was playing some funky music. It was a totally different name and everything. I have not checked on here in a while so who knows how long it has been there! So if you tuned in earlier and got some weird music don't know where that came from and if you hear it again let me know. I might have to just take it off! I don't like the idea of anyone's random songs playing on my blog! Yikes! See the real update below!
Thursday Thirteen
I know you have all been on the edge of your seat waiting to hear what is happening in our lives(haha). So here you go the thirteen most fascinating things that have happened in the last month:
- Peyton started baseball practice.
- I started my first Master's class!! (21 more to go)
- We got a crib for baby girl!
- We cleaned out the spare bedroom for the nursery!
- We painted the nursery ! (I will post pictures soon)
- We painted Peyton's room! *These last two should say Allen painted..
- We put together the crib!
- We registered at Target and Babies R Us! Fun!
- I had the flu! Boo!
- We got to see baby girl in another ultrasound! (I will post pictures soon)
- Peyton had a great basketball season*last game Saturday!
- We finally finished painting our kitchen and put up curtains *Again Allen painted..
- Most importantly we decided on a name for our baby girl!! I know we have had Laney Grace on the side bar. This is the name we originally picked for our adoption. However, we decided we might want to change it. After much discussion/arm twisting/crying we agreed on a name! Our baby girl will be named MADISON ELIZABETH!! The name Madison is just a name we all like. It was on our list when we were expecting Peyton. Since we all three liked it we decided to use it for this baby. Elizabeth is my middle name and the birth mother's middle name. SO we think that makes it extra special!

Our Baby Girl
These are some amazing 3D pictures of our baby girl. We had an ultrasound done today to check out some issues with her kidneys. As it turns out she only has one functioning kidney. The other kidney is not working but the doctors are certain that she will be just fine with one. We will have to see a pediatric urologist when she is born.Everything else checked out just perfect! We are praising God again for allowing me the opportunity to go to the doctor and see the ultrasound! We will be going back in 4 weeks for a recheck and Allen and I both will get to see her! Keep praying that everything continues to go well.

Ringing In the New Year!
We took a trip to the lake for a New Year's celebration and fun before we go back to school with the Kinard and Padgett families! On the way down we stopped and ate at Chick-fila! When we got to the lake house we unpacked our food. Below is what we had:
Yes, I know you ask how long were you staying? Well we spent 2 nights there and yes that is 4 dozen doughnuts you see in the picture. We had 6 kids and 6 adults to feed so we needed some food! Of course immediately after arriving this is what we did with the Padgett kids and Peyton:
We hung out talking and playing the Wii on New Year's Eve until around 2 (that is the adults plus Peyton) ! Here are some pictures of the fun:

On New Year's Day we got up and made yummy munchies to eat while watching the Gamecocks and Tigers play in their bowl games. Everyone stayed in their PJ's until the late afternoon. Too bad neither of our teams won so we had nothing to celebrate! In the afternoon the kids headed to the lake in an attempt to feed the ducks but for some reason when we headed down the dock they all went away! So instead we fed one little fish who enjoyed gobbling up all our bread! It was a fun adventure and no one ended up in the water!

On New Year's Day night we decided to try and make fondue with a fondue set I bought at an after Christmas sale! It was really fun and very yummy! Allen was the master chef and added milk chocolate, white chocolate and peanut butter to our mix. We enjoyed dipping apples, bananas, angel food cake and marshmallows into the dip. As you can see below everyone enjoyed it!
Master Chef Allen and his lovely assistant Jennifer
The girls stayed up late talking and looking up baby names on the Internet. While Brad and Allen played the Wii, Kevin and the kids all went to bed around 10:30. It was so much fun! This morning I got to be awakened the second morning in a row by a sweet little blonde coming to my room! It was nice to wake up to some sweet smiling faces both mornings even if I had only gotten a few hours sleep!
Unfortunately, we all had to come back home today. Thankfully, we cleaned our house before we left so all we have to do is laundry to get everything ready for returning to the real world on Monday. This has been a great start to 2009 and I can't wait to see how God will work in our lives this year.
This is the only picture I had with all three of us in it-in case you are wondering that is our sparkling grape juice for our New Year's toast we are drinking.
