Sweet Surprise

This has been a long week at school and my kids have been wild! I was dreading the start of my weekend because I have class all weekend. So I was thrilled when I came home to a sweet surprise from my hubby today.This is what was waiting for me on the kitchen table:
It is a beautiful plate to hang in Madison's room. I had bought one earlier this week for a friend who is adopting a baby. I told Allen I loved it and it would look really great in Madison's room but I didn't buy one. He surprised me by not only going to buy it but by remembering where I got it and which plate to get! I guess he learned something from our wonderful Sunday school teachers and our Fireproof study! It was a nice surprise after a HARD week of hyper 6 year olds and a dreaded weekend of classes!

We Are So Blessed!

Saturday our sweet friends, Jennifer, Katie, Kelli and Amy gave us a wonderful shower. We were overwhelmed at the generosity of everyone! We got everything we needed. It was such a blessing to know we have so many people who have been praying and supporting us through this process.Madison is one lucky girl to have so many people who already love her. Below are a few pics from the shower. I need to get some more from Katie or Jennifer because I don't have near enough of all the people or the nursery full of gifts! So I will post more soon.

We are counting down the days until Madison is here with us! I can't believe she is due in 6 weeks! We are so ready to finally meet her.I look forward to spending some of my spring break going through all her wonderful gifts and organizing the nursery for her arrival!

Madison Update

We had an appointment today for a check up with the specialist and had another ultrasound! Madison was very active the whole time. She was pulling her feet up with her hands and sticking her tongue out! I wonder if we have another ham on our hands? She weights 5 pounds 2 ounces! That is a little big but doctor said she is healthy and they would just monitor it to see that she doesn't get too big to deliver. The nurse also said she has a TON of hair!! So I guess I can go ahead and invest in some bows. Also the nurse said she has chubby cheeks! We are all about some chubby cheeks in our family! So everything is moving right along. We go back on April 23 which will be 38 weeks (wow!) to check in on things. Below are some of the pictures from today's ultrasound!

Wet Weekend

This weekend was yucky! I know we need the rain but man am I ready for some sunshine. Friday night Allen and I watched the movie Fireproof with some friends from church. We had been doing a study of it during Sunday school for the past few months and watched the movie to end our study. It was a great movie and we enjoyed the time with friends. I have to say Kirk Cameron looks exactly like he did in Growing Pains except maybe a little less hair!
Peyton was suppose to have his first game on Saturday but it was rained out. So Allen I spent the day running errands. My dear friends are having us a shower this weekend and we are having it here so everyone can see the nursery and I we won't have to cart all the stuff from one place to another. So we needed a few items to spruce up our house. I need curtains for the nursery and we were trying to decide on a glider. We looked everywhere for some curtains but so far no luck! I did find rugs for my kitchen and pillows for our living room! Saturday night we went to Babies R Us with my parents to look at gliders some more and eat BBQ.

On Sunday, we went to church, came home, ate lunch, took naps, went back to church and had dinner with the Brown's. Today I have felt so tired. Don't know if it is the weather or what. Allen and I came home from work and took naps! We never do that but we were both exhausted! I want to stay up and watch Dancing With the Stars tonight so I hope the nap helped! Peyton was suppose to have a game tonight but due to the weather it was canceled too. They have rescheduled it for Wednesday which means I will miss it because I have to help at church that night. Peyton has been very disappointed about the rain outs he is ready to start playing! We are about to hit that busy time again with baseball but for once I look forward to being busy so time will fly! I am ready for May!

In adoption news we have our home study update visit scheduled for the week of spring break! This is the third time our case worker has come to do a visit. It has been once a year for the last three years! I am hoping that after this visit he will only be coming back for a post visit to meet Madison! I am not nervous this time because we have done it so much! Two more weeks until spring break! I can't wait!

2nd Post of the Day

Can you tell it is a snow day and I have nothing to do? Yes, well I know the house needs cleaning but that just doesn't interest me right now! So I decided I needed to post some pictures of Peyton's snow day! We were out early this morning with the neighbors watching the kids sled! I am so glad they got one good snow this year.

Below are pictures from Baby Madison's room. I love the way the color came out. Allen and my dad worked hard on the crib and I love it! Notice the Pottery Barn Bedding-it is called Kelly. I got it on line about a year and half ago. I got the whole set for like $30! Love the colors !

Lastly here are the most recent ultrasound pictures. We went back to the specialist in Feb. and he said everything looked good. He said the worst part of this is that she will never be able to play in the NFL and she will not be allowed to join the Army! But other than that the kidney issue most likely won't be a problem. So I think we can handle that! She also weighed 3 1/2 pounds at the ultrasound! It was so cool to see how much she has grown!

By the way I happened to check on here earlier and someone's play list was playing some funky music. It was a totally different name and everything. I have not checked on here in a while so who knows how long it has been there! So if you tuned in earlier and got some weird music don't know where that came from and if you hear it again let me know. I might have to just take it off! I don't like the idea of anyone's random songs playing on my blog! Yikes! See the real update below!
